Three groups, three meanings

Not following backFollowing − Followers93
You do not follow backFollowers − Following327

Before the check

Usernames are compared case-insensitively and duplicates are removed. The display spelling is kept for review.

Current state is not history

An account in Following minus Followers is not following back in this export. That alone does not prove it once followed or identify an unfollow date.

Follow-back rate

Follow-back rate = Mutuals ÷ Following × 100

The percentage describes the current outgoing network. It is not a quality score and should not drive mass action.

Manual verification

  • Search the username in the result.
  • Open the profile in Instagram.
  • Consider account purpose and context.
  • Make changes slowly, if at all.

Method questions

Is “not following back” the same as “unfollowed”?

The method is deterministic: the same valid input produces the same normalized relationship sets.

Will this tool unfollow anyone?

No. CheckFollowBack produces a review list and never performs an Instagram action.

Do I need to sign in?

No. Use the relationship JSON from an official export; never enter an Instagram password into this site.

Should every one-way relationship be removed?

Interpret every label according to its exact set equation. Context matters more than the raw category.
